Writer seeks information

I am writing to see if I could ask for your help in getting information. My neighbor, Granville Humphries, loaned me the Checkerboard to read. I noticed the listing of all the men who had served in the 99th Infantry Division Association.

I have the dog tags which my father, William Pleasants, wore during WWII. He died. I would like to know what infantry division he served with and possibly the dates of his service.

I am including this information: "Pleasants William. 33043069. TY1-42.3"

If you could help me with information I would appreciate it. If anyone can tell me where to get the information, I would like to know.
