Woodrow Hankins
Nephew seeks information
My great uncle was a member of the 99th Division. Unfortunately, he died when I was a small child. However, now that I'm older I would like to find out some information about him during the war. I am interested in military history (history major in college) and travel the country touring museums and doing living history.
I would appreciate it if you could "put the word out" that I am needing information about him. He was Sgt. Woodrow Hankins. He was wounded during the Battle of the Bulge. I have his Purple Heart, patches, as well as a stag-handled knife given to him in Germany.
He was at Camp Van Dorn because I have some of the letters he wrote home from there.
