Willie Korsmoe
Granddaughter needs help
I am trying to find out information about my grandfather's service during World War II. His name was Wilhelm "Willie" Korsmoe and he died unexpectedly in 1960.
My grandma says he didn't talk much about his time in the Army so she doesn't know where he fought. I have his service number and the information on his gravestone reads "PFC 395 Inf 99 Inf Division." I think he was in the Army from February 1944 to March 1946.
Can you help me find out more about what my grandfather did in Europe? I have read the history of the 395th on your website and it is exciting to think he might have been a part of that.
