Where was Submergon?

My father, John F. Huddleston, was in the 99th Infantry, 395th Regiment, H Company, during the Battle of the Bulge. He later crossed at Remagen and then covered a lot of ground before he was wounded March 25, 1945.

I am trying to determine exactly where he was when he was wounded. His papers say it happened in a place called "Submergon," but that has to be a typographical error, since it is not a German name.

My father remembers passing through Rheinbreitbach and later crossing the Wied River, but he doesn't recall any specifics about the towns he passed through just before March 25.

Does anyone have information that could shed some light on the real name of the place his papers refer to as Submergon?
