Where was K/393? years ago
Where was K/393?
My great-uncle was Delmar Schauster, who served in K Company 393rd Inf. He was KIA Dec. 16, 1944, by having both legs blown off. My grandmother (Delmar's sister) remembers that he lived for a short time in a battlefield hospital before dying from his wounds.
What I'd like to know is if anyone knew him or can tell me what K Company was doing that day (offense, defense, patrol). Also where were they?
A special note: I was born Dec. 16, 1968, approximately 24 years after his death.
