Western mini planned for May in South Dakota

John and Lil Vasa are planning a western mini-reunion for May 13-16 at Rapid City, S.D. The event will be held at the Best Western Ramkota motel. Rates are $55 plus eight percent tax and include free parking. Free transportation to and from the airport also is available. The rates are good two days before and after the reunion for those who wish to explore more of the Black Hills and the surrounding country.

Rapid City has a population of 55,000 and is 3,250 feet above sea level. It is located at the eastern edge of the scenic Black Hills in western South Dakota. It is located on I-90 and can be reached by several federal highways. It is easily accessible by air. Northwest, Delta Connection, and United Express have special rates. Car rentals are available.

The hotel is located on I-90 at exit 59. It is within a block of a shopping center, other shops, and restaurants.

Two tours are planned. On Wednesday, May 14, a six-hour trip to Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse Memorial, and a tour of Custer State Park is planned. A short three-hour tour of Rapid City and vicinity is scheduled for Thursday, May 15.

The tentative schedule includes registration beginning Tuesday afternoon, the tour and evening meal on Wednesday, city tour and evening banquet on Thursday, and a farewell get-together on Friday. A hospitality room will be open throughout the reunion.

"This schedule is not cast in stone. If you have suggestions let us know," said John Vasa.

Complete details and schedules will be sent about March 1. For additional information contact John Vasa, 14245 Highway 385, Holyoke CO 80734.
