I read in a previous issue of the Checkerboard that the 99th Recon had their 45th reunion in September. My father, Henry Gettman, was first platoon section sergeant, and later after a battlefield commission, he was platoon leader.
I have a booklet that belonged to him called, "Forever Forward: History of 99th Reconnaissance Troop." It contains practically the entire troop roster, awards, troop movements, and battles. I also have a website under construction at http://home.attbi.com/~deddygetty1 where I am displaying excerpts from Battle Babies: The Story of the 99th Infantry Division.
