Walter's story to be told in WWII magazine

Bob Walter, former platoon sergeant of 3rd Platoon, Company L, 3rd Battalion, 393rd Infantry Regiment recently was informed that an article about his experiences during the Battle of the Bulge will be published in the December 2005 issue of World War II magazine.

The article chronicles what happened to Sgt. Walter and his platoon on Dec. 16, 1944, and the first few days after the battle started. It also recounts how Company L, along with 3rd Platoon, eventually reached Elsenborn Ridge and some of the memorable and tragic events Sgt. Walter and the rest of the 99th Division endured after reaching the ridge.
