VUMS recruits members
The Veterans of Underage Military Service (VUMS) is a veterans' organization that was incorporated in 1991. The 1,500-plus members entered the military while younger than the legal minimum age for enlistment and served in all branches of service. It is estimated from three to five percent of World War II and Korean War veterans were underage when they enlisted.
