Van Dorn museum project seeks funding
The Camp Van Dorn Museum in Centreville MS, plans to open March 18, 2005.
Mildred Field, director of the museum, invites all 99'ers to attend the opening.
She also asks for artifacts and items from the Checkerboard division. The museum would like to display a wall plaque with the Checkerboard emblem, a division flag, a list of medals awarded to the division, and a brief history. Field said the museum does not have any 99th patches or emblems.
