Information wanted
While visiting with my father this week he mentioned he would like to be present when the World War II Memorial is dedicated. I was interested in knowing more about his wartime experiences. He said he was in the 99th Infantry "Checkerboard" Unit. Do you have a roster which would pinpoint more accurately which part of the 99th Division my dad was in? His name is Troy Edward Rutledge. He lives in Springfield MO. He is about to turn 83 and health is becoming an issue. If no roster exists could you direct me how to get more information? When is the memorial scheduled to be dedicated?
I would appreciate any help you can provide. Dad has never shared much about his tour of duty and I don't have much to work with at this time.
