SV/924 survivors asked for photos years ago
Noted Bulge historian and longtime friend of the 99th Infantry Division Association, Will Cavanagh needs a couple of photos.
He is seeking photos of two S/924 men who were murdered by Kampfgruppe Peiper's men when his tanks roared down on Bullingen early Sunday morning, Dec. 17, 1944.
Thomas Hutton and Bernard Pappel were killed. The remainder of the battery was captured and 11 men escaped.
Anyone who may have a photo, group or single, of either of these two men is invited to contact Cavanagh who is writing an article about Henri- Chapelle American Cemetery.
Cavanagh's address is 11 Crichton Ave., Chester-le-Street, County Durham DH3 3ND England. His e-mail address is krinkelt@btinternet.com.
