Still time to register for Biloxi reunion

There is still time to register for the 55th annual convention of the 99th Infantry Division Association to be held Aug. 1-5 in Biloxi MS.

Cutoff date for convention deadline and the early registration price is July 1 but registrations will be taken as long as possible, according to convention planner Donna Bernhardt.

Registration rates go up after July 1, from $15 to $25. We will try to accommodate as many late registrants as possible, however, it is to your benefit to plan early, said Bernhardt.

We are quickly filling our room block at the Imperial Palace. The Wingate Inn (across the bridge) has graciously allowed us to block rooms for overflow. This hotel is located five minutes from the Imperial Palace and offers a complimentary shuttle to the casinos. They are offering a special 99th rate of $69 per night if you mention you are part of the 99th Reunion.

Convention activities include several tours, the war room, a presentation by author of "Infantry Soldier" George Neill, the memorial service, a Checkerboard chorus concert, membership meeting, breakfast, and annual banquet.

The Diggers also will be on hand during the convention to visit about the MIA Project. Time is running out. Make your reservations now, this is one convention you won't want to miss!
