Setting the record straight

After shopping at our local furniture store recently, I gave Mrs. Randy Clouse, one of the store managers, one of my patriotic flag post cards and a copy of my book, "O'er the Land of the Free."

The following day Mrs. Clouse called me and said she had given the book to Elmer Clouse, her father-in-law and a WWII veteran, to read.

To her surprise, her father-in-law told her he served in the same unit as I did — I/394.

She invited her family and me to dinner so I could meet Elmer Clouse and exchange our stories.

Needless to say, I had a great time exchanging stories with Elmer about the Ardennes, Remagen Bridge, etc.

If any of Elmer's wartime buddies wish to contact him, they can do so by writing to him at 844 Doubling Gap Road, Newville PA 17241.
