Sam asks why?
Retired lieutenant colonel and former I/394 platoon leader Sam Lombardo writes to ask "why" the 99th is not represented on a monument honoring Bulge veterans.
A "very disappointed" Sam read about the monument in the most recent edition of Bulge Bugle.
"It reported that on May 8 (VE Day) they dedicated a new monument honoring Battle of the Bulge veterans. Many units that participated in the Bulge battle were mentioned.
"Our 99th Division did as much as any and more than most, and was not represented nor mentioned. This is very difficult for me to understand."
