Richard Hall

I am writing concerning my uncle who was in the 99th Division during World War II. His name was Richard M. Hall from New Jersey. He was a second lieutenant out of OCS at Fort Benning when the division was activated at Camp Van Dorn MS.

Some time later, after the division moved on to maneuvers in Louisiana or to Camp Maxey TX, he was transferred out of the division and sent to France with other replacements. He was assigned to the 99th Division and served there until he was killed in action on Nov. 24, 1944, on the border of Germany and France.

I have been working on a book concerning Richard and his brothers, who all served in the Army during the war. Although I have found a lot of good material for the book from various sources, I am still looking for someone who knew him.

I would like to hear from anyone who has any recollections of him. I realize the odds are getting worse and worse for success, but it would be greatly appreciated if anything came of such a request.
