Enclosed is a check for annual dues as an associate member. My dad, Frank Cordella, served with the 99th, E/394.
I wrote the Checkerboard awhile back for anyone who knew him. He had been MIA at the beginning of the Battle of the Bulge, but eventually was found and sent to a Paris hospital for a few months before returning to his unit. By then, everyone had lost track of their comrades.
I heard from several veterans of the 99th. I actually heard from one who bunked next to my dad. I learned something from everyone I heard from and I want to thank all of them. They all are heroes in my eyes.
