Reporter seeks info about Col. Thomas Ford
My name is Richard Lardner and I'm a reporter with the Tampa Tribune. I am working on an article about a local veteran, Col. Thomas Jefferson Ford, who was the intelligence chief for V Corps.
Ford helped plan the D-Day invasion and later was awarded the Distinguished Service Medal for action in December 1944 and January 1945. The action involved providing intelligence for the 99th Division. He warned of threats on the division's front and south flanks, which allowed the division to be prepared for the attack.
My question — is there anyone with the 99th who recalls Col. Ford and can speak about him?
