POWs benefit from change in law
Many 99'ers who were POWs will be interested in new federal legislation that offers monthly compensation, according to months in captivity, for those who served as prisoners of the enemy.
Certain medical conditions are "presumed" to have been suffered by POWs. This is especially important because there were no medical records kept in prison camps.
These conditions include nutritional disorders, stomach problems, ulcers, anxiety, and traumatic stress disorder.
The VA views POWs as "true heroes" and has taken giant steps to help them.
