Nephew asks for memories of childhood hero

Nephew asks for

memories of childhood hero

My name is Russ Carlone and I am from Newport RI. I come from a large, close family. My uncle Harry was a member of the 99th in World War II. To us he was a strong, quiet, gentle man who never mentioned the war. He died a few years back. I miss him a lot. While going through his things I found several of his medals, including a Bronze Star, and a flag in his basement.

I now have kids of my own and mention Uncle Harry to them from time to time. Talking about him makes me want to find out more about his war years. How can I find out more about him or get in touch with someone who might have known him?
