MP is new member
Thank you for your prompt response to my question about the association. I am sending this on behalf of my father-in-law, Arv Hansen. He was an MP in the 99th in Germany and was injured at Linz.
He is 82 and not in good health, but he did write an account of his time in the service. You may be interested in publishing it because there are some very humorous anecdotes. Also, Arv was awarded the Bronze Star and of course, the Purple Heart. He lost a leg as a result of his injuries.
I showed him some of the material I was able to print off the Internet and told him I'd find out more about the organization.
He did comment to me that the 99th didn't receive the recognition it deserved because of Patton. I'll have to query him more about that incident. It had something to do with crossing the Rhine ahead of Patton.
