Monument at Krinkelt is appreciated

I want to express my deep appreciation to whomever is responsible for the monument and decorations on that monument to the 99th at the village of Krinkelt. My father was one of 10 survivors — all wounded — of his company which was at Krinkelt with the 393rd. He was seriously wounded there. While he did not talk about that experience, it must have been horrible. He did share a few incidents with me, but not many. He died about 25 years ago. This past January I visited Krinkelt for the first time and felt a closeness and many other emotions for him and all the boys who were there. Incredible is all I can say.

If there every was an unheralded Army division, the 99th is it. What a pity more people do not know. It had to have been hell on earth. Bless you all.
