Member urges others to get involved
Having read the 99th paper I was finally able to contact some of the fellows I served with. Thanks to Cyril VanSelus, we were able to contact each other and he also was able to put me in touch with our commanding officer, Mark Graeber. I have been corresponding with both of them and it's great to hear from them.
I read the paper from top to bottom and side to side and it's great. I wish there was a little more about the 395th but I guess most have no time to write.
Come on, guys. Get involved. I'm sure there are a lot out there who are wondering about friends and buddies. It took me a long time to get involved and I'm glad I did.
My son-in-law calls the above photo "Band of Brothers." It's part of the 395th, 1st Bn. Med. Detachment. It was taken right after fighting ended.
It would be nice to know where they are and what happened to them. I know it's been a long time and I don't know why I waited so long to write.
I was attached to Company B as an aid man and sure would like to hear from some of the friends I made there. I was with Company B all through the war.
I'm hoping seeing the photo in the Checkerboard will give others some incentive to get involved and find out about their "Band of Brothers."
Thanks for keeping me informed about the 99th. I was sorry I couldn't make the Biloxi reunion. Maybe someday it will wend it's way out to California.
