M and Ms to attend San Antonio convention

Marcel and Mathilde Schmetz are the Belgian couple who have for years welcomed 99ers in their home and spent much time taking them places in Belgium where the 99th Division was located in November-December 1944.

They have the "Remember Museum 39-45" honoring all veterans who were involved in their liberation from the Germans.

The article on page 3 of this issue, "Christmas wishes from the M&Ms," outlines their activities for the past year. They have done these projects for a number of years.

The M&Ms have graciously accepted an invitation to attend the 2005 convention in San Antonio.

At the 2004 convention, the board of directors approved a proposal for the association to pay for part of their travel expenses to the San Antonio convention.

Many 99ers have been their guests and now have an opportunity to show appreciation by contributing toward their visit.

If anyone would like to donate to the M&M Travel Fund, send checks to Donna Bernhardt, PO Box 99, Marion KS 66861. Be sure to specify the check is for the "M&M Fund."
