Information wanted
My uncle, Dick O'Donnell, was the company runner for K Company, 3rd Battalion, 395th Regiment, during the Battle of the Bulge and until he was wounded and evacuated in early March 1945.
In trying to learn more about his experiences, I am reading the book, "Butler's Battlin' Blue Bastards," by Thor Ronningen. In it, on page 45, there is a statement by James W. Williams of HQ Co., 3rd Bn., that states: "For the defense [of Hofen]
Do you know if this is true, and if so, what the special order number and date was? If it's true, I would like to try to get a copy of the special order from the National Archives.
