Hume Carter Adams

I am writing to see if there is anyone who may have known my grandfather, Hume Carter Adams. He was in C/394, 99th Infantry Division. He was a staff sergeant. I know he was in the Battle of the Bulge and I believe the Battle of Rhineland, if that sounds correct.

He never spoke much about the war. I was only about eight years old when he died.

A few years ago my mother and I sent a form to obtain his military records. I believe it was in St. Louis. At first they sent us a letter telling us they had a fire in one of their buildings and my grandfather's records were not found. Disappointed, we just gave up. However, a few months passed and we received a package in the mail. It was my grandfather's medals and ribbons. I don't know much about military medals, but I do know he received the Bronze Star, three Presidential Citations, and his Checkerboard and other patches.

If anyone knew of my grandfather, please contact me. I know he had some friends in Texas.
