Has 99th run its course? years ago
I've enjoyed reading the Checkerboard over the years, but it seems to me it's about time to wind up the 99th Association and call it quits — especially after reading the rather negative minutes of the board and membership meetings in the second issue of 2007.
Who is the genius who complains we have too much money tied up in CDs? And that publishing names and addresses is a complete waste of money?
On a different note, I noticed the name of John Gautney on the list on page 5 of those who recently died, and that his outfit was shown as "unknown." He was a member of Regt. Hq. Co. 395th Inf., as was I.
