Grandsons ask for assistance

My brother and I are searching for information about our grandfather, Howard Grayson of Cincinnati OH, who served with the 99th Division.

Unfortunately my brother and I know very little about him. He died of a heart attack in December 1965, when my brother was just an infant and I wasn't even born yet. Our grandparents divorced in 1951, but our grandfather remarried in 1952, and he moved from Cincinnati to Mansfield OH. The only contact our father had with him after he moved was through the mail.

Our grandfather entered the U.S. Army in December 1941 or early 1942. We know he served in Italy, but do not know what unit or division he was with. We know he was wounded a total of three times. He was last wounded during the Battle of the Bulge while serving with the 99th Division. He was a first sergeant and received a Silver Star for his action during the Bulge. We do not know the circumstances for the Silver Star. We know he also received a Bronze Star, but we don't know if this was for action in Italy or Europe.

If anyone remembers Howard Grayson from Cincinnati OH, please contact us.
