Donations encouraged for statue of 99'er years ago

The Army Reserve unit, 99th RSC and the Association of the 99th Inc. has been conducting a drive to erect a 12 foot tall bronze statue — a tribute to a 99th WWII GI — at headquarters near Pittsburgh.

A complete new headquarters facility has been constructed, the highway has been designated a memorial road to the 99th, and the monument will be constructed.

Ron Kraemer of the 99th Archives Committee urged all 99th veterans, meeting at Norfolk, to give generously toward construction of that statue. In effect, the statue is a combat Battle Baby, one of us.
