Through Forbes Williams, I was fortunate to learn of the 99th Infantry Division Association and have enclosed a check for 1999 and 2000 membership. For the record, I joined the 99th at Camp Maxey and was assigned to Company K, 393rd Infantry. That was my outfit up to the opening of the Bulge, when I was captured on Dec. 16, 1944. Like many others, I was fortunate to live through the months of captivity, was liberated in mid-April 1945, and served out the balance of the war at a rehab and redistribution center in Santa Barbara CA, as an MP.
