Checkerboard Chorus CDs still available

Those attending annual conventions have heard the Checkerboard Chorus perform at sing-alongs and during memorial services. A few years ago at the convention at Fort Mitchell KY, the chorus rented a recording studio and recorded a CD.

Hundreds of copies of the popular CD have been sold and organizer Stewart Boone announces there are still some available.

The CD features many favorites of the chorus including patriotic and spiritual selections as well as music from the WWII era.

Narration by Vernon Swanson intersperses the musical portion of the CD and special selections are highlighted with solos, duets, and quartets.

The chorus includes more than 40 99th veterans, spouses, children, grandchildren, and friends of the association. Bert Burda is director and is accompanied by Herm Saunders on the piano, Stewart Boone on the trumpet, and Phyllis Burda as pianist/librarian.

The CD is a welcome addition to any 99th collection.

CDs are $10 each and can be ordered from Stewart Boone, 806 Center Street, Garden City KS 67846.
