Checkerboard Chorus CDs available

Checkerboard Chorus CDs available

Bert Burda and Stew Boone have received and previewed a sample CD and report they were both favorably impressed.

"It's not perfection," they say, "but it's us." They guarantee everyone who was a part of the recording and all who purchase the CD will be pleased.

Advance orders account for sales of 141 CDs with receipts of $1,261 in the bank. That accounts for about one-third of the estimated cost of the project. The association will fund the remaining production costs but needs to sell an additional 250 CDs to break even. After that, there is a potential profit $6,000.

Burda and Boone are now proofing pictures and editing copy for the booklet enclosure and tray card. The process of obtaining copyright licensing of the various selections is quite involved but should be completed by the time this issue of the Checkerboard goes to print.

CDs should be shipped in about 60 days. The first and only gratis CD has been promised to the family of past president and member of the chorus, Ed Jackson, who died in September.

Boone is responsible for mailing orders. They have ordered 1,000 CDs so get orders in soon.

The CD includes a narrative by chorister Vernon Swanson of the action of the 99th during the Battle of the Bulge.

To order, send your check for $10 per CD to Stewart Boone, 806 Center Street, Garden City KS 67846.
