Bravo to Checkerboard

Bravo for fantastic issues and for being so fair to publish that most unfair critique on the first page of your newest edition. Applause! Kudos!

Your publication is among the best of any organizations I receive, and the writer must be an old crotchety man. Payment in advance is par for the course with all printed media — magazines, newspapers, etc.

Of course they would contain information on conventions. He probably would be the first to complain if not published, with the excuse for not attending because he didn't know about it. Funding for same is a matter of personal option . . . and I haven't yet heard of a convention that was "free."

Your issues are informative, interesting, and I look forward to each and every one, as no doubt the majority of readers do. I never discard a single issue until year's end.

Keep up the good work. I appreciate the efforts that go into putting out a paper, as I have been editor of my cerebral palsy newsletter for the past 20 years.

I am 81 too, but I look forward to the future and many more Checkerboards. My glass is half-full, not empty. It is so sad to read the underlying bitterness in his last statement.
