meets regularly at Pittsburgh

The Association of the 99th Infantry Division, not to be confused with the 99th Infantry Division Association, meets regularly.

They met Oct. 11 to elect new officers. Other meetings include Nov. 8, Jan. 10, Feb. 21, and others.

Meetings are held at 7 p.m. at the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall in the Oakland section of Pittsburgh.

It was announced that the 53rd annual convention of 99th Infantry Division Association will be held July 15-21 at the Hilton Hotel in downtown Pittsburgh.

Creative Conventions Service of Beaver Falls, PA, will coordinate all tours.

They plan to take Just Ducky tours on Wednesday and Thursday, in World War II amphibious craft.

Thursday activities will include a Gateway Clipper luncheon cruise, a Pittsburgh buffet, and a performance of the Checkerboard Chorus.

The annual Memorial Service will be held Friday morning, as well as a trip to Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall, a catered lunch at the new 99th Reserve Support Command, tour of the headquarters, and program.

Friday evening the group will be entertained by Slavjane Folk Ensemble.

The commanding general will be the featured speaker at Saturday night's banquet and the 99th Army Band will play.

Harry McCracken is in charge of the convention.
