99th veterans present impressive program for History Round Table
Four veterans of the 99th Infantry Division made up the panel of the History Round Table presentation on "Holding The North Shoulder" Dec. 9, 1999, at Minneapolis, MN.
Don Patton of the World War II History Round Table was the host.
Margaret Moen, who was present to take photos for VFW Magazine has shared some of them with the Checkerboard. They are not, however, the photos which will be in the magazine.

Herb Kohnke, Sgt in mortar section of D/394, Oakdale, MN.
Dick King, F/394, White Bear Lake, MN..
Eugene Bauer, M.D., 1st Bn. Surgeron, 393rd Infantry, St. Paul, MN.
Vern Swanson, Pfc and BAR man in C/395, made the opening remarks before members of the panel spoke. Swanson, who is the author of some highly acclaimed books, was a Pfc. He resides at Deerfield, Il.

Those in the audience estimated at more than 400 say the program was a huge success.
