99th gets recognition years ago

The 99th Infantry received recognition in Chronicles magazine, published by The Rockford Institute in Rockford, Ill.

Titled "The 99th's Last Mission," the story is by Brian Kirkpatrick, about his father's days in the Checkerboard Division. It tells the story of the 99th in combat and what followed.
