Two members of the 99th Infantry Division Association have been recognized by the Chicago Bar Association.

They have achieved "senior counselor" status. They are:

Phil Corboy, past president of the Chicago Bar Association, one of the most outstanding trial lawyers in the nation, senior partner in the Chicago law firm Corboy and Demetrio, and a member of the American College of Trial Lawyers.

Judge Philip Benefiel, now retired, is a past president of the Illinois Judges Association and also served on the Judicial Inquiry Board. He was appointed to the bench in 1968 and became chief judge of the Second Circuit. Before the bench, he was in private practice, was Lawrence County state's attorney, and served as an Illinois state senator. In retirement he continues to serve on the boards of the Chicago Area Project and Near Northwest Civic Committee.
