101st gets credit - again! years ago

The 101st gets credit,

again, and again, and again

Nuts! The 101st Airborne has been given all the credit again. As always.

This time it was by Congress.

A joint resolution in Congress commending World War II veterans who fought in the Battle of the Bulge presented a fairly accurate history of that event, including the massacre near Malmedy, but seemed to dwell on action of the 101st Airborne at Bastogne. The story told about the monument there and the general saying "nuts." Many readers might draw a conclusion that not much else happened. At least, nothing else was mentioned.

A copy of the resolution was forwarded to your Checkerboard by John P. Middleton G/393.
