Louisville chosen for 2010 convention

After careful consideration, Louisville KY, has been chosen as the site of the 61st annual convention in 2010.

Memphis TN, was the first recommendation of the site selection committee earlier this year at St. Louis, with Louisville chosen as the alternate site.

However, after initial requests for proposals were sent to both cities, Louisville hotels and the convention and visitors bureau offered the best “fit” for the 99th group.

The downtown Marriott at Louisville has been chosen as the host hotel. Rates are $95 per night with free parking. The hotel is located within walking distance of Fourth Street Live!, a downtown entertainment and restaurant district.

Dates are July 21-24, 2010.

The 99th Infantry Division Association met in Louisville in 1975 and again in 1990, both times at the Galt House.

The city has changed, and there is a variety of things to do and see in the area. No definite tours have been scheduled yet, but it promises to be another great reunion.
