For awhile now, I have been trying to find more information regarding the following soldier who was killed in action during the Battle of the Bulge.

He was Pvt. John E. Erxleben, 393rd Infantry Regiment, service number 16075905. Entered service from Illinois. KIA Dec. 17, 1944. Buried at Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery, Belgium.

In my collection of WWII documents and photos, I have a handwritten letter from him, 1V mail letter and a sterling “U.S. Army” bracelet which came with it.

I would like to know more about this soldier but I don’t know where to start. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
