Chaplain’s corner

Go fishing

Hanging on my office wall is a poem that was given to me years ago when I used to go fishing. I do not get to do that anymore, but the sentiment still touches my heart. In any case, I think this applies to all 99ers, regardless of whether we go fishing.

The Fisherman’s Prayer

God, grant that I may live to fish

until my dying day.

And when it comes to my last cast,

I then most humbly pray,

When in the Lord’s safe

landing net

I’m peacefully asleep,

That in His mercy I be judged

As big enough to keep.
